Erin & James Burswood Wedding

The absolute best thing about photographing weddings in Perth is the amazing people we get to meet. Erin and Jim were no exception. What an amazing couple, Erin is a ball of energy teaching dance full time at a private Perth school as well as running her own dance school and Jim keeps the home front running making sure his young boys are well looked after. They’re a great team and it was fun being with them all on their Burswood wedding day.

The day was a true reflection of the two of them. The colour purple, Erin’s favourite colour, featured heavily throughout the wedding as well as their love of big machinery. We photographed Jim and the boys on Erin’s huge Kawasaki motorbike and they chose 2 purple 12 seater Hummer Limo’s for their bridal party of 6!

Erin chose her gown from Luv Bridal and having dance and costumes in her blood she added her own creative touches. Her bouquets were from Pick Me Function Flowers.

Keeping the day simple they chose Burswood on Swan for their ceremony and reception. The river and the East Perth playing fields were the backdrop to their ceremony. Music by Monte Cotton and Adam Springhetti brought Erin down the isle accompanied by her mum and dad and led by Jim’s boys holding the hands of the little flower girls.

We made use of parkland along the river for Erin and Jim’s wedding photos finishing up at sunset on the bank of the river capturing the river gums and the golden light. We also made use of the huge E&J sitting in front of their marquee for a sunset photo with the two of them.

Erin and Jim’s unique bombonieres, made by the two of them, were seashells potted with succulents. The marquee with an open front overlooked the dance floor with the river and the lights of East Perth as the backdrop.

You can imagine that the dance floor was well used! The bridal party entered the reception dancing. But as expected the dance was something else. Erin had choreographed a dance for her and Jim, who before he met Erin was not a dancer. He didn’t disappoint and the guests were left gob smacked watching Jim perform lifts and even a cartwheel. Peter caught it all! Burswood on Swan was a fantastic location for the outdoor dance floor!
