Friday the 12th of April will go down as one of the wettest days we’ve worked on for a Perth wedding. But to look at Yolanda and Dean you would definitely not have known there was a dark cloud in our Perth sky, in fact I think they were oblivious to the rain! Yolanda and Dean had planned an outdoor riverside Boatshed wedding, imagining the sun shining on our Swan River with the city as a back drop to their wedding ceremony. They had planned a late ceremony time so that they and their guests could move from the ceremony over to the Boat Shed Restaurant with out a long waiting time, hence with the rain and the dark sky there was little time for bridal photographs.
Yolanda arrived at the ceremony with her dad and two bridesmaids in a hot pink Mercedes Benz. With a fabulous smile on her face she and her dad headed down the aisle to Dean. Lindsay Tuckwell the wedding celebrant conducted a very warm and personal ceremony. The guests weren’t deterred by the rain and huddled around under umbrellas and created a aisle for Dean and Yolanda to walk down before joining them for celebratory drinks being served by Yolanda’s brother Scott.
After some family photos taken under cover at the Boat Shed Restaurant we managed to get a few wedding photographs of the bridal party with Yolanda and Dean just as the sun was setting. Once they’d made their entrance they got straight into the three main speeches of the night. Dean and Yolanda’s family were already like one big happy family having shared a holiday to Switzerland together last Christmas. Hence the speeches were filled with love, respect and much warmth. What a way to start a marriage what a great Boatshed wedding.
