Fraser’s State ReceptionI recon Jaye and Sam were the luckiest wedding couple in Perth on their 9th of June wedding date. Jaye and Sam gave us a wish list of three specific wedding photos around Fremantle and Fraser’s State Reception Centre, and the weather forecast was for rain and thunderstorms!

Needless to say with Jaye from a long line of proud Croatians and Sam from a proud Italian fishing family this was a romance made in Fremantle. They were married at Saint Patrick’s Basilica Fremantle and after the long line of family photos we headed to Fisherman’s Harbour for Sam’s must have pic. A wedding photo with the bronze sculpture of the lobster fisherman is dear to Sam’s heart, being a fisherman himself from a family of original Italian fisherman in Fremantle. The sculpture was in fact based on Sam’s family and other migrant families who started the Fremantle fishing industry. The next must have wedding photo was Jaye’s request of a shot along the capriccio strip featuring Gino’s. Gino’s is a stalwart of cafes in Fremantle. Gino Saccone established it in 1983. Their bridal party were a fabulous group and their can do attitude helped make the wish come true.

Jaye’s final wish was to capturing the Perth city lights and another with the line of magnificent trees lining Fraser Avenue in Kings Park. With the sun setting at 5.19 it was of course dark by the time we reached Kings Park. Peter’s expertise ensured Jaye got her wish and capture amazing shots looking over the city lights and just as we packed up after the wedding photo of Jaye and Sam with the array of lemon scented eucalyptus sprinkles of rain started to fall. Jaye and Sam took shelter under our umbrella and made haste back to their reception at Fraser’s State Reception Centre. Shortly after the storm and wind picked up. Jaye and Sam were warm and dry inside while the rain was slashing against the windows overlooking Perth City. Mission accomplished! Like I say the luckiest wedding couple in Perth!
