Living in the South west of WA, what better place to head to for a wedding than Margaret River, Smiths Beach at Canal Rocks. Karen and Troy wanted to keep the day simple and with having three children between them, as stress free as possible. They managed it all, keeping the guest list to just their parents and closest friends.
Karen the bridesmaids and her son Jayden got ready at the Canal Rocks Apartments over looking the beach, while Troy, his best man and his daughters, Maddie and Bell got ready in a spacious home just off Wildwood Road. Karen opted for parasols and fans as an alternative to flowers and her dress was from Cherubs for Weddings in Bunbury. Jayden’s suit was hired from a Bunbury store and Maddie and Bell’s gorgeous red dresses were from Pumpkin Patch. Troy’s suit was from Tarocash.
The wedding ceremony was on the beach just across the road from where Karen got ready. Karen’s son Jayden proudly walked Karen down the isle and in a strong and confident voice answered “I Do” when asked “who brings this women to be married”. After Karen and Troy exchanged vows they involved the three children in a “sand blending” ceremony. Each member of the family had a glass of coloured sand which they poured into a tall glass vase. This was to symbolise the blending of two families. Family photos were taken over looking the ocean before heading to the country side for bridal party photos in the Australian bush.
The photos in the bush were magic with sunlight giving the grass and trees that fabulous zing. After the bridal party photos Karen and Troy were especially keen to headed back to the rocks at the ocean for more bridal photos of the two of them at sunset. They were treated to an amazing sunset and Peter captured the scene perfectly.
They wound up their wedding day with their children, parents and friends at Lamonts – Smiths Beach for their first meal as husband and wife. The Margaret River region is just so perfect for weddings.
