boatshed weddings 1Both being avid cricket fans, Alida and Peter’s first date was to the WACA to see the test where Guildchrist scored the second fastest century in test history. As you can imagine this story is told whenever the question arises as to “how did you two get to know each-other?” And no doubt their great grand children will be hearing the same story from the cricketing enthusiasts! Needless to say a visit to the WACA was on the list of photographic locations for their wedding day. Both Ali and Peter wanted an intimate wedding in Perth with the very special people in their lives around them on the day.The Boatshed Restaurant was chosen as the perfect location. They wanted to be true to themselves and embrace simplicity. To this end they decided to have no bridal party. At Ali’s home her sisters and parents were there to help her prepare for the day. Ali’s dress was from Tuscany Bridal and her shoes were from Georgie’s Bridal Shoes in Leederville. Ali was fortunate in that Paula from Buds and Berries is a family friend and did a wonderful job supplying the amazing bridal flowers. Peter spent the morning with his family in a city apartment over looking the river and not to forget the important WACA lights! We captured great casual family shots before his mum put the final wedding touch of the buttonhole to his suit lapel. Peter’s suit was from Parker and Co and he chose shoes from Gingers for Gentlemen. They created an intimate ceremony with the help of Claire at the Boatshed Restaurant, on the river’s edge in South Perth. Ali arrived in bridal cars from So Cal and was walked down the isle by her dad. During and after the ceremony there was much joy and laughter, hugs and kisses. After photos with all the guests we headed off for a short time for wedding photos with the Peter and Ali. On return to the Boatshed Restaurant the guests were enjoying music played by Michael Battersby. Michael who plays piano was there for the evening playing dinner music as well as fabulous dance tracks. Through out the evening we captured many candid shots of the speeches as well as Ali and Peter enjoying the company of their friends and family. Photos over looking the river and city lights are a must when you’re at the Boatshed Restaurant. Peter and Ali took some time out enjoying a few quiet moments on the shoreline in the moonlight while we took a few final pictures.
